S.D. Evans out of Brooklyn is creating some incredible heirloom-quality quilts and wall hangings that are so great I can barely stand it. Each quilt is a handmade, one of kind piece made from natural fabrics such as cotton, linen, vintage yukata cotton, and leather. The quilts clearly honor traditional patterns, but S.D. Evans has effortlessly added a contemporary aesthetic. I think of these pieces not only as utilitarian crafts but also 21st century Americana at its finest. Prices start in the low $100s and go up from there.
